7th Grade Volleyball - Sectional Champions, State Qualifiers

Our 7th grade volleyball team, coached by Sherri Verdun and Kristie Ochs, defeated Chatham Glenwood in two games to win the Edwardsville Liberty Sectional and earn a trip to IESA state. Our team played really well, fought through some adversity, and competed hard the entire time. We are so proud of our student-athletes and coaches.

This is our volleyball program's first state tournament appearance and first sectional title!

They competed against Morton Junior High School and lost in an incredibly competitive three-game match, 25-22, 25-17, 26-24.

We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for their success this season.

Illinois 5 Essentials Survey

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Beginning February 3, students and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the ninth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.

E-Learning Plan Due to Inclement Weather

As we get close to the end of October, it is time to begin thinking about the possibility of inclement weather during the winter months and what an E-Learning Day Due to Inclement Weather looks like at Trimpe Middle School.
As you are probably aware, the Bethalto School District does not cancel school for “snow days” or other inclement weather and instead utilizes our E-Learning Plan for Inclement Weather. The schedule, details, and information for students and families regarding our E-Learning Plan for Inclement Weather can be found at this link: https://bit.ly/3GfBBys

Please reach out to the TMS office or your student’s teachers if you have any specific questions that are not addressed in our plan. For our 7th and 8th grade families, this plan has not changed from last year.

TMS Tutoring Center

We are very excited to announce that our Tutoring Center will be available for all TMS students after school, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00-2:40pm starting Monday, October 24th (the first day of the 2nd quarter.)

The Tutoring Center is located on the 2nd Floor Commons. This will be a great place for students to get help and assistance with assignments, homework, studying for tests, or making up work. It will also be a quiet place for students to work after school with supervision. We do not offer a late bus, so students who stay for the Tutoring Center will need to find a ride or walk home.

Fall Choir and Band Concert

Our TMS choir and band had an outstanding performance tonight under the direction of Ms. David and Mrs. Rice. If you missed the show or want to see it again, it is archived here:

MENTAL HEALTH HOTLINE

Call4Calm is a support text line in Illinois for residents that are experiencing stress and mental health issues related to Covid-19. Individuals who would like to speak with a mental health professional can text "TALK" to 5-5-2-0-2-0, or for Spanish, "HABLAR" to the same number.

Call4Calm is FREE to use and individuals will remain anonymous. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours, they will receive a call from a counselor employee by a local community health center to provide support.

Individuals can also text key words such as "unemployment" or "food" or "shelter" to the same number (5-5-2-0-2-0) and will receive information on how to navigate and access supports and services.
